Piper is in doggie depends and estrogen for incontinence, but otherwise doing great for almost 14 1/2 yrs. Very little grey so far.
I think both of my girls were ” potential “holdbacks” but the Maurisa allowed me to adopt them:

Hi Rob: I am not currently a Facebook participant, but I wanted to contact you as I just found your site. My wife and I adopted Liza (now known as Arby-Gee) from Maurisa on Memorial Day 2022. She was the first of Maurisa’s Champions to be adopted as Maurisa’s health declined that Spring. Arby-Gee has been a welcome addition to our home and has become quite well known in our town of Wellsburg as she routinely visits businesses and the Courthouse each day. Marc Chernenko
We have had two Northgate Springers. Northgate’s Squire Rush, or Tripper and Northgate’s Lady Lillian Rush. Tripp passed away in 2015. Lily was born the day before Tripp died and has been with us since then.
Hi Rob, I just submitted a request to join the Facebook group for Northgate Springer owners. I am so sad to hear of Maurisa’s passing. I always enjoyed seeing her website with all the new puppies and show news. It’d be fun to participate in the Facebook group – I never got around to registering our boy we got from Maurisa (hope that won’t disqualify me). Maurisa thought she might keep him; but decided to sell him to us when he was 12 weeks old. She kept his sister for a while I believe, and she did well in some shows. I’m sure Romeo would’ve done well (he’s as gorgeous as any of her other dogs – they’re all gorgeous!)
I get weepy every time I read a new comment from Northgate owners. Thank you Rob, so much for the opportunity to stay in touch, I am not very good at sending photos but will try to get pictures of my beautiful boys. As a 70+ senior, they are my lifeline. I ride my bicycle with a springer, on a leash, by my side.
Not sure if you still have your Northgate Facebook page as I am not a social media person, but I am reaching out to see if you know anything about where the Northgate dogs went when Maurisa died? I only recently learned of her death. Really sad. We have a 7 year-old black and white female from Northgate and would love to know where the “bloodlines” went! Thanks for any info!
Yes, our Northgate English Springer Spaniel Owners Group is going strong with 164 members! All of Maurisa’s dogs have been placed in new homes thanks to the amazing efforts of MAESSR (Mid Atlantic English Springer Spaniel Rescue). These dogs, including Maurisa’s most recent star, Oshie, who we adopted, have been spayed/neutered, so the Northgate line has ended. You’re welcome to join our group, where you can get lots of information about who has Maurisa’s angels.

No. The Northgate line ended with her passing.
It really is a sad ending to a great program. I have a Jack son who is 12 and a Zander son who is almost 2. I was thinking of another boy in a year . They are tremendous representations of the breed!

OMG! I just tried to access her website and then googled her name to find out she had passed away. 😢We bought our pup Murphy from Maurisa in 2013. Was thinking about getting another one of her Springers. Did all of her Springers find homes? Sorry to hear about her death. She really was an Excellent Breeder! She was very thorough with details about her Springers. I did request to join the Northgate Springers FB page. Murphy’s Sire was Jack and Dam was Ruby. Did they find homes?

OMG! I have 2 Northgate Boys. Henry is 12 and Berkley is now close to 2. I am so sorry to hear of Maurisa’s passing. The boys are the BEST Springers I have owned. beautiful attitudes and quality dogs. They are my 9th and 10th Springers.
Maurisa’s passing was a tragic shock to all of us. Most of her dogs have been adopted. We have adopted her beloved Oshie (GCH SILVER Northgate’s Power Play) and he is a delight. Maurisa Payne passed away on July 4, 2022, so there will be no more Northgate Springers. There are excellent breeders out there, but I don’t have any specific recommendations.
I believe I may have Marvel’s sister, born Dec 10 2014 and brought her home on Feb 2, 2015. It was Super Bowl Sunday. Parents Jack and Twinkle Twinkle. She is a black and white and her name is Sweet Magnolia. We live in Northern Virginia. Just last week, we brought home Ringo, a liver and white male whose parents are Matthew and Ziva, daughter of Jack. He is 9 weeks old.

We recently picked up our Springer from Maurisa and were so happy to hear about this Facebook group. This is our forth English Springer Spaniel and our second from Northgate. His name is Charlie and his parents are Oshie and Abby. He is such a sweet boy! I will complete the request to join and can’t wait to share our love of Northgate Springers with fellow owners.
