On Sunday, April 22, I had the pleasure of serving as Organist at Macedonia United Methodist Church in Cary, NC. I have a warm place in my heart for this congregation. When I first decided to dust off my organ-playing shoes, Macedonia UMC and its Music Director, The Rev. Carl Clark, generously opened their doors and invited me to use their church organ for practicing, and I’ve spent many hours there getting the fingers and toes working again.
While Macedonia UMC is a small congregation, they are certainly not lacking in heart or musical talent. They’ve got many wonderful singers in their choir, who welcomed me warmly and contributed enthusiastically to our worship music on that Sunday, while Pastor Clark provided a provocative sermon about faith as small as a mustard seed- or candy sprinkles. It was a wonderful worship experience filled with spirited singing from the choir and congregation!
